Everything is walkable from the Apartment. Also regular trains to Vienna\/Prague from Bratislava main station. Budapest can also be reached from Senec with a single change, takes 3 hours and costs \u20ac18 return &#8211;\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/cp.atlas.sk\/vlakbusmhd\/spojenie\/\">Train Website<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">Restaurants:<\/h2>\n<p>In the summer our order of preference for the Restaurants\/Bufets by the apartment are:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/562iJp62hYmJgw419\">Bufet pri Kurtoch<\/a> &#8211; next to the apartment, does good fish and daily specials written on the blackboard outside.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/s1qAMXevhu7kq3Se9\">Troya<\/a>, the last buffet as you walk along the lake towards town. Great pulled beef with fries and cheese sauce :-), also good Thai meals (the staff goto Thailand in the winter)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/rBoYBZ9BttiZWCRz6\">Green Tree<\/a>, new owners in 2024, more expensive but good meals.<\/li>\n<li>For lunch the small place <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/x2Mp11hnm8ZLWtxB9\">Dobry Lava\u0161<\/a>\u00a0 make their own Armenian flat breads and make various wraps salty or sweet. Aspram (the owner) used to live in the UK and likes to chat, I supply her with coriander from my garden when I have too much.<\/li>\n<li>Try <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/L%C3%A1ngos\">Langos<\/a> which is a hungarian pizza (garlic + cheese + ketchup, some crazy people also have cream on top), the best place is <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/Sc3wSip6oUYJG9qVA\">Senecky Langos<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>We avoid Yacht and Bufet na Plazi.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>For lunch our favourite place is <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/kqqRcVVgqeMXnszL6\">Boka Bistro <\/a>\u00a0in town. Every weekday they have a lunch special (check on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/BokaBistro\">facebook<\/a> for the weekly menu, every couple of months on a Friday they have English Fish and Chips !!!), it really is tasty. Tomas the owner speaks great English (because he has English lessons from me!). They also do great breakfasts including authentic English style sausages made by a butcher who used to work in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>The best restaurant in Senec is <a href=\"http:\/\/restauraciamarathon.sk\/\">Marathon<\/a> , its in the middle of the pedestrian street in town, book ahead if you want an outside table in the summer, say hello to Misko the head waiter. It quite expensive (for Slovakia) but a nice dining experience.<\/p>\n<p>On the North side of the lake is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.co.uk\/maps\/place\/Koliba+Senec\/@48.2208861,17.4234302,18.62z\/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x63239ff946c5e915!8m2!3d48.2213457!4d17.4235339\">Koliba<\/a>\u00a0(traditional Slovak food) &amp; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.co.uk\/maps\/place\/Country+Saloon\/@48.2202055,17.4184123,18.62z\/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0xdfc21e18cbedd2d6!8m2!3d48.2204576!4d17.4177993\">Country Saloon<\/a> (started as a little shed 20 years ago, it now has something like 300 seats), good chicken wings and ribs.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">Coffeeshops:<\/h2>\n<p>Our favourites are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/cafevodvore\">Vo Dvore<\/a> (same owner as Troya, very nice secluded garden) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/antikvariat.senec\">Antikvariat Kaviaren<\/a> at the far end of the main street has great cakes made by the owners wife and a nice garden. Also Boka do good coffee. In the Winter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pralinka.cokoladovna\">Pralinka<\/a> does great hot chocolate, they also have a nice kids play area.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">Supermarkets:<\/h2>\n<p>All the main supermarkets are here, we use Kaufland and Lidl mainly. They are open usually 7am-8pm 7 days a week. Note that small shops shut for lunch and are are only open Saturday morning until noon. So if you heading to Senec town on Saturday morning go before noon ! On Saturday afternoon and Sunday most shops are closed. Terno supermarket which is nearly opposite Piano bar is a good option if you dont want to drive to Kaufland or Lidl. Its the same day that the lake holds its music festival so it is <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>VERY busy and VERY noisy<\/strong><\/span> so best avoided. The paid areas are all near to the main <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/KHsPrYKc41vU2Q2x6\">Lichnerova<\/a> shopping street in Senec, there are big signs telling you. Payment is only needed from 8am-6pm weekdays and only 8am-Noon on Saturday, Sunday is free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parking at all the supermarkets is free, and parking on the road near the train station is also free and also everywhere on the South side of the lake (this is new since 2024)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Parking inside the lake near the buffets &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>Parking is free on the South side of the lake, there is a new 2 floor car park, you can park in the top or bottom they are both free.
