Checkin/Out: Check-in is from 15:00, Check-out is by 11:00 (can be earlier/later by arrangement if there are no guests before or after).
If I am around I will meet you at the apartment. Otherwise I will leave the key (and tell you where the key is before you arrive).
This is the apartment in 2020 (its in the middle of the block at the back of the beach volleyball courts – but with no leaves on the trees in winter) – the orange truck had gone :-(:
Parking – Park your car right in front of the apartment (its your space). If you have 2 cars you can also park in the road opposite close to the wall (there are no traffic police/traffic wardens in our street).
You can also park in the main car parks by the train station, its free. Car crime is very rare but dont leave anything within sight in the car anywhere in Slovakia.
Finding the Apartment:
By train: Walk out of the train station and into the lake area (through the gate), then walk to the right past the tennis court. Then past the blue gate turn right, you will see the aprtments. Apartment is on the right in the middle of the block. In summer the guy at the gate will ask you top pay, just tell him you have Season Tickets “Permanentka” waiting for you in the apartment and he will let you in for free (helps if you are carrying a suitcase).
By Car: In Winter (not July/August) you can drive from the train station (follow instructions above). In Summer you need to drive around the lake since the blue gate by the apartment is locked, in your satnav add “Reca” as a stop so that it routes you around the lake.

Lake Passes in July/August only – There will be passes to enter the lake waiting in the apartment (small children dont need them), you will need to show these as the gate if you goto the main lake area. Please look after the passes and leave them in the apartment when you leave (they cost €20 each).
Heating – Each room has a controller for the underfloor heating. Simply set the temperature with the up/down arrows (after pushing the on button in the middle). The electricity comes on and off 4 times throughout the day/night (economy heating tariff to avoid peak usage times) so dont worry that the display goes off, it will come back on within an hour. Since the heating is underfloor it takes a few hours to feel the effect so only change the temperature by 1 or 2 degrees otherwise you will find it will get too hot during the night.
Window Blinds/Shutters – There are 4 window blinds controlled by this remote control. First you need to select the blind using the bottom button, it will flash to show with blind you are controlling (1 to 4), then push up/down or tilt.
Try to keep the guest bedroom shutter closed during the day in the summer to avoid it heating the room up (its South facing), the other shutters at the back dont get the sun at all. Sometimes the battery in the remote control go dead (the red lights will be dim), I will tell you where the spare remote control is hidden.
Hot water is via electric tank in the bathroom. The electric socket on the right is night storage electricity so only comes on for certain times (economy electricity tariff) so dont worry if the LEDs on the water tank are not on, the water is still very hot as it will have heated all night. If you need more hot water then move the switch that inside the electricity white fuse box by the front door to the UP position (there is a picture in the fuse box showing which switch to move). DO NOT MOVE THE WATER HEATER PLUG IN THE BATHROOM to the washing machine socket, it will overload the electricity cabinet.
The washing machine has a tap for the water at the back on the wall, make sure the tap is straight (on) otherwise it will display a “no water” alarm when you try to use it.
TV / Media Player – TV and Media player are on HDMI on the TV. For TV use the long thin remote, for the Media player use the short fat remote and navigate to the USB drive. The Media player has many kids/teenager films/cartoons (Shaun the Sheep, Pink Panther) – all in English
In the garden in Summer there is an automatic watering system so leave the Red tap in the garden turned on. To use the hose use the small black tap on the left connected to the hose. In the summer you will hear the watering system turn on at about 09:00 and 20:00 on for 5 minutes, dont be scared, its not leaking !
